Today is the 10th anniversary of what is most definitely the worst day in the lives of a great many people. At least it is for me.
It was 10 years ago that a deranged lunatic entered Sandy Hook Elementary School and killed 26 people. It was an act of immeasurable horror. Of those 26 people 20 were children. Unthinkable, and Newtown is still reeling from it all.
The worst part of all of this is that there are still people in schools being killed by guns. So how much progress have we made? None.
The town of Newtown and the community of Sandy Hook have a nice new memorial to commemorate the occasion. I haven't seen it yet but I will within the next couple of weeks.
Here's a picture of it.
