The older I get the more I realize how fragile life is. The other night I received a call that yet another good friend of ours had passed away. I first met him through his wife when I started teaching in 1973. His wife was a teaching colleague of mine and she, Paul, my wife and I became good friends that lasted these many years. We are still friends with his wife. Paul was 90 at his passing.
This marks the last of several friends I've lost over the past few years. Of course it's to be expected. After all that's what happens when people get old. Still it's always a shock and a reminded to value what days we have left, however many there may be.
