King Donald

The president recently ordered governors to allow churches to open.  He said if they didn't then he'd override them and order it himself.  His rationale was that people needed to pray.

First, Trump doesn't have the authority to override governors on this issue.  Second, I thought it was possible to pray just about anywhere.  Why can't people go to a quiet place in their yard or if they don't have a yard just quietly sit in a chair in their homes?  Does God really care where you go to talk to Him (Her? It?).   Worship does not have to be confined to a particular location.  After all, plenty of soldiers prayed long and hard in a foxhole!

So what's this all about?  Well, you know as well as I do.  Did you notice Trump was surrounded by evangelical leaders while he posed as king?  They all looked dutifully somber and supportive.  The reason is because with their churches closed, the flow of cash stopped.  Pure and simple.  It's about the money, gang.  We all know that.  Trump needs those evangelicals to encourage their flocks to support him.  His base is shriveling by the minute.

Some governors will cave to him for the same reasons but there will be plenty of others who will tell him to go pound sand, i.e. Cuomo of NY and Lamont of CT for starters.

You need to pray?  No problem.  Stop talking, close your eyes and pray away!
